Get More Hours In Your Day By Spending Less Time "Falling Asleep"

If you are anything like me, then you are the type of person who likes to stay up late binge watching HGTV, drinking margaritas <edit> water, without a screaming toddler pulling at your shirt. Indulging in something you love with zero interruptions (except for a refill) totally outweighs getting the recommended amount of sleep to even function normally. You may be completely exhausted when you flip on the tv, but three hours and five ship lap walls later you're finally ready for bed.

We all know the benefits of getting the recommended amount of sleep and waking up early. But for me, I would rather stay up until I am so exhausted that I can barely make it upstairs, than lay in bed tossing and turning for three plus hours.

So how do we finally go to bed when we say we will and fall asleep sooner? By pouring that first glass of Chardonnay a few hours earlier. Just kidding. Kind of. But seriously, it all starts with a good mattress.

Let me go back to the beginning. When Trey and I first met, he was living in a two bedroom apartment with his roommate. His room consisted of about three guitars and a FUTON #priorities. I had no kids yet and I was young, so I could pretty much sleep anywhere but I could totally feel the metal bars underneath that flattened sad excuse of a cushion. Now let's fast forward a few months when he decided to get a place of his own. He ditched his futon before finding another bed which left us with one day to find a mattress or he was sleeping on the floor.

Mattress shopping is THE WORST! We literally spent nine hours going in and out of sleep shops and still weren't sure which one felt the best. How do you know which mattress to pick after laying on it for three seconds, with no blankets or pillows, with your shoes on, and sales people breathing down your neck? It was 20 minutes before all the stores were closing so we finally just picked one. Well, it ended up being the worst decision we ever made. The mattress was terrible. After just a few months, it was lumpy and had zero support. But now we had to live with that $800 decision because, "no returns if out of packaging".

Fast forward four years later and bed time looked like a dance off. After tossing and turning for hours, we would finally fall asleep but only for a few hours before waking up and rustling around with the pillows again. Trying to fall asleep was exhausting, when we were already tired to begin with! I wish I knew then what I know now, when it comes to mattresses. If I had done a little research, I would have found out that the composition of a bed not only helps you sleep better, but also aids in the longevity of your mattress.

Tomorrow Sleep combines a supportive coil system along with a high density memory foam to create the most perfect sleep support you have ever lied on. But they also have a 100 night trial, just in case. Tomorrow also understands that in order for us to be in a state of optimal sleep, our bodies must drop about two degrees in temperature. This is why the hybrid mattress is also cooling! I love this the most because I get hot when I sleep and also need to be much cooler in order to even fall asleep.

The premium memory foam pillows are cool coated as well! I have to say that sleeping on a Tomorrow memory foam pillow made me realize just how much I don't like all other pillows. No more wrestling with these!

The mattress, pillows, and sleep tracker showed up right to our door step! It doesn't get any better than that. No more wasted hours spent lying on test mattresses! And the fact that it was compressed into a box made it super easy to unpack and get upstairs into our room.

It takes out all the hassle of finding the perfect mattress. You just have to decide between a medium-soft or medium-firm option and you're done! And if you're really into figuring out how to get your best sleep every night, then you definitely need the sleep tracker! It made me really aware of when I should be going to sleep and adjusting things in my daily life to try and get a better score the next night. It also makes for a fun competition between you and your partner. Trey and I always compare scores the next morning. The setup is super easy too! Just set the monitors under your mattress, where you typically lay your head at night. Download the app to your phone and you're all set!

Out Tomorrow mattress and sleep set has given us both much better sleep. We don't spend hours trying to fall asleep anymore and our backs don't ache like they did with our previous mattress and pillows. This is what sleep is supposed to feel like. For better sleep and a better tomorrow, purchase your own Tomorrow mattress and accessories at and use code MDH150 for $150 off your purchase of $500 or more!

Tomorrow Sleep provided a hybrid mattress, memory foam pillows, and sleep tracker in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and images are my own.
